I went out a couple of hours ago to remove and re-install my headliner. I planned to remove and re-use the material, I did it on my last wagon but the last time the thin foam held together and the cloth came off perfect. I used a 3-M rattle can glue for auto aupolstry. This time it's a freeken mess, half stuck to the top and half stuck to the cloth and it's turns to powder and brown snow flakes when touched....and my honey won't let me put this in the washer:tsk:, the cars a freekin mess now and it started raining so it's staying that way tonite:banghead3:

I haul our dogs almost every day and with that keeping the car cleaned and vacumed is more than regular thing ( me likes the family rides clean ) but the cloth material in this wagon is a stupid hair magnet compared to the Fox Marquis and vacuming helped rip the old headliner off.

We went to Wall mart (fabrick section) for new material tonite when my wife mentioned denum and how it would not be a "fur magnet". I'm sure I am going to get a "what the:badwords::coco:" from some of you but thats OK:D, For $40 I bout a denum headliner.

Our wagon is not stock any more with leather buckets/console from a Chrystler.....it looks better:2_thumbs_up_-_anima, and it is a dog hauler and always will be so practical function is what I'm after. We like the car and will keep it for years.

Weather permiting I will be installing the denum tommorow after I remove the roof panel, no room in my shop so I'm out side. If any one is interested in pics of the process let me know:D

Isn't that a great idea! I don't like bluejeans, so I buy brownjeans and greenjeans - otherwise known as heavy cotton twill. It can be dyed too.

Yeah, I wanna see pics of this ingenious workaround.:1st:

The interiour is blue so it's another "as close to" match for me.

I Bout a medium blue denum and a couple differant pacs of "RIT" fabric dye, dark denum and navy blue. $2 a box for dyeing up to max dark/dyeingness (what ever you call it:p) 3-5 sq meters. My kid mixed 3 samples for me witch one sample was a 5-1 mix of dark blue, navy blue so tommorow I can see whats going to look best in there. She said we could change the mix ratio to get a few more shades also.

On a side note,,, I have in the past used RIT fabric dye on auto seats and carpet with great results. Cheap way to restore medium to lite sun fade(y)

You're the one with the Moat!!! :rofl2::rofl2: Over $100 to cross.

You ever thought of getting an Amphicar. Little 4-banger with 2 10" props, circa 1964. I think they're being reproduced. Seats 4. Only convertible models.

Tedy thanks for reviving a great Idea. Back in the 70's Jeep came pit with a Denim model which the seats were covered in Denim from Wrangler jeans. It looked Great. White Jeep with blue lettering same color as the Denim. We are picture hounds so produce or we will hound you. :rofl2:
