I'm sure that this car isn't new to some but I just saw it for the first time and I must admit that my jaw hit the floor and bounced back up hard enough to make me bite my tongue. Here is an older one from the 80's, an 86 I believe. And here is one from the 2000's. This next one is a custom combo job somebody did with a Mustang and a Golden Spirit. I couldn't find a frontal pic of it the combo. I could completely flood this post with pics of this car. I wish it cam in a wagon model. I really appreciate that the new one still has the classic styling that the older one had. More car companies could do this if they wanted to but hey style doesn't matter any more so why bother, right!
Wow that is really different! I wasn't so sure I liked it at first. But it grows on yah...really different. Thanks K
The president of a company that I used to work for had an Excalibur. I always thought it was a pretty slick car until I saw the Zimmer. They have so much more style.
Zimmer and Excalibur were the big names doing these faux 'classic' conversions back in the 70's and 80's. There were a lot of other companies who jumped on the bandwagon as well, and I remember seeing a whole lot of shoddy workmanship in their construction. Very thick bondo; brazing instead of actual welding; virtually no corrosion protection.... I wouldn't touch any of these retro-styled vehicles - for any price.
They are all cheesy if you ask me .... like some of the crap they did with the 75-79 Seville. Like KK sez, I wouldnt touch one.
Well, with that in mind... I would still have one of the Zimmers... Although I would much rather have this beauty here. A 1933 Duesenberg Model SJ Twenty Grand. A 1935 Model SJ Ahhh, drooling...
Haha. That's cute but ridiculous, IMO. I have seen those bug- with-a-grille jobs and, no, not for me.
LOL whadda you mean "cute"??? It was cute with the original bug nose but now it just screams "Look at me, look at me. I have jealously issues and a Napolean complex!"
I could have bought one of those early Zimmers after moving to Florida for under $4000. Thought they looked butt ugly. Now I love them. As far as that cute joke---I was cute too once. My front end doesn't look the same anymore either!
