Not all stories need be sad. There is a point in a cars life when the deterioration becomes artistic to my eyes. Take this little 2 door '57. I think it is beautiful and not a waste actually since we all return to the dust from whence we came eventually.

Some cars however do get saved...

... as this one could have been crushed. Instead it was sold to a guy and his kids who got her running again and because of that I am eternally grateful. :yup:

We also found some a year plus ago on a weekend drive to auto wreakers and antique shops.

I bout the tail lites out of this one for spares.

This poor old Fairlane was saved from the crusher, the same wreaker has had this car for years. How ever, I don't know if it's still there.

My honey spoted these and said "fins", you want to turn around.
The 58 was a basket case but the 57 Meteor was amazing solid and 99% complete. Seller wanted $6grand. Again, I don't know if they are still there.

That yard's got a lot of special stuff....
    - Studebaker P/U
    - '57 Ford Courier sedan delivery
    - ('62?) Olds ambulance
    - Willys wagon
    - '60 Mercury Commuter HT wagon
    - 2-door '58 Dodge wagon

Don't see these on the streets every day....

I think I'd go for the Courier myself.

I hate it when they crush them.
There was once upon a time when I could identify every car on the road, and those pictures are almost all I have left of that time.

just went through this thread... it reminds me of the 58's thread. Just sad to see them all go to the crusher. I know of a guy selling a 1960 Stude wagon... he already sent 1 to the crusher. Unfortunately I lack the space to keep it anywhere. I just need some parts. I fear that it may also head to the crusher. :(

Anybody notice the '60 Merc has the wrong wheel covers on it? They're from a '63 Ford.
