    One of the nice things about the black (and all non-metallic paints) on Fords in 89 is that they were not clear coats. What you see is real paint. Only the metallic paints were clear coated at the factory. That's why that paint has the mile deep shine to it. The factory clear coat had a look of being on top of the paint. It looked good, but not as deep a shine as the enamels.

    my dad had a '90 LX 5.0 hatch. at the time i thought it was bad a$$!
    today my wifes milan has more hp!
    still...awesome car! but i prefer the cleaner look of the LX. the really cool one IMHO is the special edition LX convertible
