Do you mean, if the roof was cut out specifically for mounting that home? Studebaker did make these wagons with retractable roofs. I think, you could get these with a standard option delete (full roof), ending up paying less for the vehicle?
It's funny, I wasn't even thinking about the sliding roof area. I was more thinking about the front section, where the overhang would rest.
