This info was also in magazines and newspapers too. After a discussion on Youtube with a guy who had worked at a Lincoln/Mercury/Ford dealership, about the Cougar XR7, I learned that Car And Driver(both the magazine and TV show)had either mis-represented or misunderstood the XR7 package. It DIDN'T come with a suspension that made it intentionally sportier than one in a Jaguar of the time, it was a down-sized version of the Lincoln Continental suspension, and was meant to make the XR7 the floaterboat Cougar. So, even world famous car experts can NOT be actual car experts sometimes.
