It's not easy finding a good body shop that'll do the work. This is the third body guy that I had lined up to do the work . But finally it's under way.
FWIW A long time ago I had a similar situation. My completely dismantled car sat outside a body shop waiting for work to begin, for a year. What I know now is this; the shop owner quoted a low price to get the work. Later, he didn't feel he was making enough money on the job so put more profitable jobs before mine. He was too greedy to let go of the potential work so kept making excuses probably figuring he'd get to it when slow. I wound up at another shop that did good work in a timely manner for similar money. Re-assembling the car after so long was interesting to say the least. It sounds to me like the guy really doesn't want the job so best to get it out and start over elsewhere. I'm glad I did. Good luck
It is so fustrating waiting. It must have been awful for you waiting an entire year! I was ready to pull her out of there after waiting 3 months but work has begun... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=284563#post284563
AH, glad to see work commenced. That is a big job, glad I won't be paying for it. Good choice of cars to spend the money on though, that era A body cars just did everything well. Too bad it takes such monumental effort to have a nice one nowadays. Good luck and hope you'll be on the road soon.
