At 157,500 miles, my wagon just returned home after receiving:
    Oil change
    Tranny fluid & filter change
Tire rotation and rear brake shoe cleaning & adjustment
E-brake cable lube, adjusted (E-brake was not holding previously)
    Speedometer cables replaced
Fuel gage problem confirmed as problem w/ sending unit (not electrical problem)
    "Kill Switch" installed

My mechanic told me there are two speedometer cables (is this right?). Rather than replacing them, he said he built a set of these cables for my car. I'm happy now my speedometer needle no longer "bounces" at speeds under 30 mph, but not so happy that the new cables are noisy. I'll have him re-look at this once i locate a sending unit and take my car back for its installation.

Took a road trip to a wrecking yard today and scored replacement interior panels for the front driver and passenger doors for my Roadmaster. The panels have a couple of cracks in them in the usual places but they are repairable and in infinitely better condition than the ones that I have. Looks like they've been in the yard for quite some time so I'll have to put a lot of effort into cleaning them before I can hit them with SEM to switch them from grey to blue. I'm pretty excited. Both doors still had unbroken Concert Sound II speakers on them and the wrecking yard let me have the passenger side seat/window controls as part of the deal. Since I took both of them they gave them to me for $100 instead of the $75 each that they were priced at. It was an 80 mile round trip to get them but well worth it. I can't wait for the warmer weather to arrive to get these cleaned, dyed, and installed!!

    ?????

So you paid more because you bought them both?
I would have thought you would have got them both for less.......

Good score, Wiz! Why not make it a winter project in the garage and have them ready for the Spring?:D

With the Roady in the garage there's just barely enough room in there for me to suck in my ever-expanding gut to squeeze by the mirrors if I need something from the tool chest. :rofl2: My shop out back isn't much better once I surrender space to store all of the summer yard gear. We've been in this house for almost 15 years and it seems that both I and my stuff have grown to fill the space. The Mrs. has finally stopped getting that panicked look in her eye when I talk about moving so hopefully by the end of next year we'll be in a larger house with some room for winter projects. Until then I just have to pile up all of my car stuff in the garage and close the door until I'm ready to come out of hibernation.

For anyone who's interested. Here's a link to the wrecking yard I went to. They're not really a pick-n-pull but the have a pretty detailed inventory of everything in the yard. I went up to the counter to tell them what I was after and that I had found it in the inventory on their website. The lady at the desk radioed to a guy out in the yard. In no time the guy pulled up to the door and drove me out to the car that I was interested in. We picked out the parts that I was after, loaded them into the truck and he drove me back to pay for them. Pretty smooth. There were two guys with trucks shuttling people out to the yard and back while I was there.

GASP!!!! Bite your tongue! The Mrs. has a rough idea what I spend on cars. If I eat less she'll figure out how much I spend on food and have a stroke. I just can't do that to her. :biglaugh:It's easier for all concerned if I just keep eating.:rofl2:

I've been house hunting for a few months now. I generally start looking during one of the many parties in our starter-home neighbourhood during the summer (after I've called the cops.). I've been watching for something slightly rural with either a good sized shop or the room to build one.

Changed my weeping water pump along with the serpentine belt & lower radiator hose today. Keep on truckin'!

Funny as I just did the same repair on the Grand National about 6 weeks ago.

My oldest son chauffeured me, my younger son, and my daughter, to the Christmas tree farm today to bring home our tree.

The tree farm was very busy today, noticed a few of the usual larger SUVs, a few crossovers, and a couple of pickup trucks.

But I was happy to see quite a few other wagons represented for tree duty, such as a mid '90s Escort wagon, a couple of other Subaru Legacy wagon, and a nice Audi A4 wagon parked right beside us.
