    Buildings will stop them.

Corvair folks will like this one,
I had a '64 sedan which, like many-a Monza, had a broken parking break.
Corvair's power glides had no 'Park' gear so that E-brake was kind of important.
Well, I was young and hadn't much money, so I used an 6"Wx3'Hx9"L section of I-beam that I'd slide behind or
in front of the appropriate wheel, depending on which way I was facing on inclines, from the drivers seat.
I got good at it and it only failed me one night as had turned the wheel the wrong way. Car rolled a 1/3 block
and crossed the street and rested on the opposite curb but I thought it had been stolen until I realized what had
    happened. no harm, no fowl.

P.S. that I-beam, which was stolen one night, was also a handy , er, personal protection devise should the need
have arisen, This was when I was courting my wife and she lived in a pretty tough neighborhood. I was lucky the
steal beam never ended up in the middle of my windshield.

Thank you for indulging this slight diversion as I thank all contributors to this amazing thread! Great reference photos for my art...
    (no lifting just looking.)

...and now, back to our program already in progress....
