The side trim on the 55 and 56 Mercury and the 55 and 56 Monarch are similar. I was going by the split bar across the grille. The 55 and 56 Mercury and the 55 Monarch have full width bars across the grille. The 56 Monarch has the thick bars at each end, and a much narrower strip in the middle section.

Jim, should have attached the photo initially. I was commenting on the car in ArnieM888’s post. If you look at that yellow wagon I think it’s a Mercury. Sorry for my confusion. Lol.

I just noticed the numbers on the back of Sven's flannel shirt. It also looks like the black object leaning on the bumper to the left of the jack is a riffle. I wonder if this fellow was in some sort of shooting competition. Perhaps one of those cross country ones.

Or...... You might want to check that number with the prisons in the area. It would make sense that an escapee didn't have access to a jack stand.........

Haha honestly Marshall, my first thought was that he might be a jailbird. But after looking at it more for a few moments, I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

Yeah not sure a prisoner would have a flannel hunting jacket with his number on it. Pretty high scale prison lol. Plus having the good fortune to boost a fairly new Ford wagon with chains, a rifle, and army blanket in the back is kinda rare. Just putting it out there.

That's his deer hunting tag. Many states require that they be pinned to the back of your jacket so the game warden can tell you're a hunter and not a poacher.
