Interesting color combo. Very patriotic. Love the ‘58 Merc in the background.

 

That 56 Chevy 2dr wagon looks totalled to me.

 

Most likely. It's around 1960 or so in the photo. Body repair labor rates would have been around $5-6 per hour back then I'm guessing, and the fairly plain '56 wagon might have been worth maybe $800 at most....... It's not even at the right kind of shop for the repairs.... Wonder what the story was there....?

 

My original Shell station was a 2 bay unit, later upgraded to a 3 bay. I routinely bought cars from customers which required body work or painting for next to nothing. I did the required work and sold them as used cars. It was slack time work that was profitable.

 

I would say it’s about 1960 with that Ranch wagon next to it. That looks like a ‘55 two door 210 or 150.

 

That yellow ‘68 Squire looks a lot like mine. Yellow and I think a parchment interior
