    Okay, these two pics are just wrong. The fenders say 1966, but the hood and grille says 1965.

    I saw that too. I just figured that when they did the stretch, they somehow used some left-over parts. Or maybe, before the pic was taken, they just used a '65 grill after a 'oops' incident.....

    I'll bet once the body companies disasembled the original car the pieces just went where they were needed, to create the next custom body. The body companies probably loved it when multi year parts were interchangeable and that saved a pile of money. unc

    Take a close look at those two pics… they have pretty clearly been retouched. My bet is that they just reworked the photos of '65 models to look make them look updated for the '66 brochure.

    You are probably right on that one, even the car companies would "update" pictures and even entire show cars for the next year if it was cheaper!
