Wagons in vintage Street scenes

Got some good photos in there, Tedy!

This one rang a bell, but not a loud one, so I looked it up. Herb Gould Ford was in Santa Paula, CA., a small community just outside of Ventura, CA. Does not appear to have any connection with the Herb Gould who is a long-time sportswriter for The Chicago Sun-Times.


This is Solvang, CA., a little Scandanavian-themed town off Hwy 101 between Santa Barbara and Santa Maria. Marcia and I have taken a couple of weekend trips here. Great pastries... There's quite a bit more to the town than what you see here.


Somewhat puzzling photo......
I believe this is Las Vegas - after a flash flood.
Took me a while to recognize the car in the foreground that's upside-down. Looks like the rear of a '71 Toyota Celica coupe


(Not sure I'm correct on this, though...)

Tornado aftermath?

 

The flash flood photo may be correct. Although, I initially thought it might've been one of the sets for the Sensurround flick "Earthquake," with Charlton Heston. Anyway, a little-known fact about the central Las Vegas core is that it is built over the Las Vegas river, an underground river. One of the hotels' garages is built down to just above river level, and you can hear it rush by. When rains hit the Las Vegas valley, they hit tremendously hard. So that may be a flooded-out casino, but I can't tell you which one.

My buddy has a 65 Impala 4 door hard top with the 327. Just like the one in this photo, except green in color.
