it looks like an upscale relative for the soon-to-be, late-great Ford Focus wagon. I know, my Volvo friends will be throwing rotten tomatoes at me for that comment, but I often wonder if Ford wasn't influenced somewhat in their orignal design for the Focus Wagon by Volvo designs. If Ford doesn't field another wagon in favor of the new market niche, the Crossover Vehicles, that seem to be the rage ... It'll have to be a Volvo wagon for me, and this model is just my size. ZXW Robb (I guess in Sweden that translates into ZXW Wobb)
The current Mazda3 Sport and Volvo V50 share the same platform and since they fall under the Ford umbrella, I would not be suprised if Ford creates a Focus wagon replacement based on this platform. I drive a Mazda3 wagon and it is a great car that handles well, is peppy and fun to drive.
Thanks for the info ... I had no idea the Volvo and Mazda shared any platform. The styling doesn't indicate anything in common. I have heard the Mazda is a lot of fun to drive ... good road feel and responsive steering, 'eh ? I have a few twisty roads here near Valley Forge you might like to try ! Robb
Here is an article on all the models that share the same platform as the Volvo. The Ford Focus in Europe is one of them. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061108/FREE/61106016/1024/LATESTNEWS
