I went with the manual brakes and steering for the feel and it helps to have a little extra space too.

Thanks for all the comments. Ill keep posting pics as the progress gets updated. Its cold and rainy here now so it may be getting close to time to park it for the winter. I got a few things I can do inside to keep me busy though, Kind of bites a bit not having a garage

Volares and Aspens would be "F" bodies. "K" bodies were those nasty little front wheel drive boxes. Had 2 of them, both wagons. Built 360s for them. Hated to let the last one go, but a big stack of cash sure talks loudly!

Dodgeguy, you were able to cram a 360 into a K Car? Holy cow; I can't believe it actually fit in there. You must've had to use a lot of soap and WD40 to jam it in, no? It must've been one fast K car I bet.

Looking good! I've heard those Volares need 440 power to get down the road properly, lol.

It was a good highway cruiser with a stock 318 and 2.71 gears. Havent really done as much as Id like to have but Im getting closer. Only a few small details are left before its up and running.
The steering shaft is from a 92 Jeep Cherokee 2wd. It made a good clean fit comparred to the stock Chrysler grease box. Also got rid of the rubber couple since the frame now has the solid aluminum mounts. New 440source front end kit took care of all the brackets and pulleys for alternator and water pump. I cant wait to get this thing in color

Nooowwww.. Get rid of that nasty ass starter....

Besides being too big it will not last very long from the header heat...

Use one from like a 1992 318 Dakota.. Smaller and pretty powerfull...
Plus cheaper than the Mopar race starter...

X iz stearin' yeah rite C.C. Any 318 from '88 'til they went out of production will have that little "denzo" starter. It'll hook to anything Mopar /6 thru'426 produced for over 50 years as long as it has an aluminum bell housing. '60 and '61 cast iron Torque flite is the only exception:cry:10 or 12 years ago they were commin' out of the production plants in lunch boxes:D Today their $30-$50 in all the bone yardz:dance:

Headers and big starters do not mix...

The heat from the header will over heat the starter
and one day,, when you really don't want to hear about it,
you will turn key and........ Nothing... No start...

Soooooo,, replace now or replace later when not convient...
Just know you WILL be changing it...
    :D :D :D
