My co-worker drove his F-100 to work the other day. He's not quite finished with it, but it's turned out really nice.
Three first gen Mustangs going through the intersection at the same time. And what looks like a 69 coupe, next to the 60 Cadillac, waiting to go through on the far side.
Here ya go Andrew: Photo is identified as being located at the intersection of 22nd and 23rd Streets in the North End of Philadelphia, PA. There is a lot to see in this photo, including Pennsylvania Railroad tracks, locomotives, and cars visible on the top of the wall behind the parking facility.
Yes, that is interesting. The big locos are GG-1 electrics, that plied the Northeast Corridor, before it was called that. Built during the '30's and into the early war years, they lasted in service to '83. Not just classic, but iconic. Above the building, kind of looking as if it's part of the building but sporting the PRR keystone, is a 'boxcab' electric switcher, which judging by the passenger cars, is working Pennsylvia/30th St. Station, but if I'm incorrect, please correct me. I assume the cars are commuter passenger cars.
Also, take note of the streetcar tracks, and the offset installation of the traffic light to accommodate the streetcar tracks. The Ford stakebed truck on the right puts the pic at around the late '40s.
The traffic signal in the street is pretty neat too. I would guess that it was quite old already when this photo was taken. I recall seeing an episode of the Pickers where they found one of those signal stands.
No way even a 'small' current-day riding mower would fit in that Rampside..... It would still be really cool to have one, though - the Rampside, that is!
Here's one of which I spotted not that far from the Rhine River. It looks like an early Fifties Ford. Can anyone pin it down to the exact year, from here?
You're right, it's an early 50's FORD. It's a 53-55. The grilles are interchangeable, but that is a 55 grill.
