The time was June of 1950, and this image contains a view of the old Westwood Circle on the North Side of Richmond, VA. The rotary was at the intersection of North Boulevard, Hermitage Road and Westwood Avenue. It was in place until 1961 when the circle was removed, and a conventional intersection with signal lights replaced it. Courtesy of The Old Motor.
It only looks worse than it was. With a replacement front end done right, nobody would have noticed that it was even in a wreck. The driver had to either have been totally wasted drunk or have slept at the wheel or both. This was evidently not a high-speed collision
