Now, those were streetlamps. I'm considering starting a vintage streetlamp thread.
Wonder why community governments don't just leave them alone or replace rotting ones with identically styled lamps:

Some cities are getting nostalgic; here in Everett, long about '03, they completely tore up and redid everything under the main downtown E-W boulevard, Hewitt Avenue. When they did so, they installed new concrete roadway and sidewalks, and made retro streetlamp posts. The first snow we had after that, Hewitt looked so white and wonderful because of those streetlamps. If I think of it, I'll snap pics and post them.

I hope you're not waiting for it to snow, before you go ahead and do it.

I grew up in the early days of Black & White movies and TV. It was a shock to later find out people come in all colors. Maybe that's why I still see everyone the same.;)

Not only the buses look great, the clothes, hair styles, buildings, cars, and everything from that era are nice to look at.

How did you view people, before you discovered that they are available in all shapes and sizes, Sir?

Sort of like a puppy. Remember dogs don't see colors as we do and they have to look up to view people. I'd just whine and beg for treats. Nice people gave me food and hugs, the mean ones kicked me out of the way.
    Pretty much like now.
I've ridden very few buses in my lifetime.

Since we've never seen you, have you ridden them in the front or back, Sir?

Just to be polite to the old ladies I'd often ride in the far back. I've always liked the smell of diesel fuel fumes and exhaust so sitting near the engine was a bonus.
