 Apparently amateurs autocorrected to armatures. Clearly, I am still not good at proofreading. Mrs. Williams my High School English teacher would be disappointed.

I'm a fairly decent speller, but I've ALWAYS had trouble with 'amateur'.

I've always hated auto correct especially when I write using English spellings.
On topic it's good to see that the fury's issue looked to be an expired original shim gasket, I know a few racers who will re-shellac and use the old shim gaskets for an extra point or two of compression as long as they're in still in good condition.

It was quite the relief indeed. We bought a full gasket set from Fel-Pro, so that's what will be going back in the car. Hopefully we'll get back to work on it this weekend.

Last night I began preparing to repaint the stuff that’s going back on. I realized that I was almost out of tape, so I did not get the heads taped off.

But at least we made some progress.

    Back at it.

We’ll never be able to repay neighbor Steve for his help in this project. He’s definitely been the guiding light. The boys have really dug in as well. I’ve been pleased with their eagerness to learn and participate.

The boys got it pretty dang close last night. Just ran out of daylight as they say.

Hopefully it will be running by the end of the day.

We got everything hooked up last night, just had to reference our "before" photos about 30 times, to make sure everything went back where it was supposed to go. Filled the radiator, added another quart of oil and cranked it up.

She fired right up. We still need to set the timing and possibly adjust the valves, but just hearing it run was a great relief. Once again, the daylight left us and we were working by the glow of work lights, so we called it a night. We're hopeful that Nathaniel will be able to take it for a test drive this evening.
