Your dad and siblings should rather be standing behind your wagon, to help cover up all those depressing cars in that lot. Yours is the only normal looking car there. I don't know how anyone can stand driving those others. You'd have to be on meds or drunk to even stand the thought of owning one of those.
Sorry about your Grandma. My kids lost one of theirs, at a much earlier age. My daughter last saw hers as a toddler and my son never even met his. Oh well. Kids cheer things up, in any case. I can imagine that a funeral for one's parents would be even worse for childless persons

It actually sounds like one of he best funerals that I have ever heard of. Your family coming together to celebrate your Grandmother's life. Generations still enjoying the wagon...that's what the family car is all about. I'm sure you're grand parents would be so please to see those little guys going for a cruse.
Condolences to you and your family.

I'm sorry for your loss. What a nice tribute for the family to have the wagon there and especially to give rides. Thanks for posting, the history of these cars are a big part of their enjoyment and this one's rich history makes it a star.

    Thank you everyone.
It was a good day and having the car there was just one piece of what made it so.

This past weekend was the Vintiques Northwest Nationals. There were lots of neat old cars and trucks running around all week, but especially towards the end of the week.
On Friday a few of us decided to drive our classics to work.

    I don't agree. They're all equally cool.

Haha well, thanks for your compliment Grizz, but I tend to think along the lines of what Andrew said. They're all cool.

Yeah, yeah, yeah all cars are cool I get it. But I see a mustang almost every time I drive more than 10 miles. I see a red (56?) bel aire at almost every car show I go to and I see a fury when? Someone please chime in here and tell me besides here, when have you seen such a nice wagon of this particular make and model. With a nice back story to boot. Like I said the fury is the better of the three. Hands down. Conversation over. :redface:Hey, sorry about your grandma. I just saw that and like ivy said kids cheer things up. Here’s a funny story that relates. We were at the playground and this little girl is going on and on about her grandma. My grandma has this, my grandma has that and so on and so. My girl (3) is just listening and then all the sudden she puts one hand on her hip and says “oh yeah?! Well my grandma is dead!” Hahah top that! The humor outweighed the grief and besides granny would have been proud

I got goose bumps reading this by the way. If only your grandparents knew and maybe they did, that the car would one day be hauling their future generations especially with the speed with which the future has arrived I’m sure they would be and probably are very proud.

Well, it is true that Tri-five chivy's and 60s Mustangs are about the most common classic cars out there. They were popular when they were new and they are popular now (maybe even more so then when new?) so it stands to reason there would be a lot of them around.

But you are correct, there aren't many Furys around. The only one I see from time to time is a red Sport Fury, but it's not a wagon and they don't actually live here in Yakima. The owner has family here and comes to visit when there are car shows.

So, my car certainly is unique and I suppose that does make it pretty cool.
