Chilly, kinda cloudy today, but no rain! Got my tree up yesterday, alot shorter than last year but oh well..... Just one of the many uses for hat channel, from 20 feet away you can't tell, from the street it looks like the real thing.... I seem to have lost my star lite for the top, so 3 clear lites for the wise men this year..... Still nice out, just mite put lites on the 2 trees out front today.
We were going to drive past and have a look at them last week when we were visiting family on the rock but then found out we could catch an earlier ferry home so much to Tedy's relief, no ping pang on the door and a Hi, how are ha, oh, by the way, I'm......... It is great to see people still doing the lights and decorations. When I was a kid every house but one or two in our area had the lights up, it was pretty much what every parent did with the family. Nowadays, so many people just don't bother. We harassed our one neighbor so bad about not doing it one year we put up our own string on his hedge the the other neighbor put up some of those blow-up things you get at Costco. He moved
In Illinois we lived at the left end of a Cul-de-Sac and there was a house across on the right end. Plus a house on the end--end! Sort of a circle looking thing. We all decorated and ran a line across the street with lights from one side to the other. Since we were on a small hill the lights were visibly several blocks down the street. Plus I had lights on my 50'CB tower. These could be seen from the other street beyond our property. Sort of two dead ends almost coming together. Now we have few neighbors and don't even put up one tiny colored bulb. Bah Humbug!
Wha...ya was....and then ya was....but ya didn't.... and then....jumped "back onto" ship? ....... I know how it is....dam bout takes up 3/4 of a day
Tedy, Kind of the problem is I'm not doing very much of the driving at present so with the wife at the wheel, the rain just pounding down over there, and my attempting to offer my sage driving advice from the passenger seat, when it was time to head home my beloved was not going to be convinced to do anything but hit the ferry terminal. Good thing I hid the duct tape or she'd of had me very quiet and unable to transmit my driving concerns through body movements. That duct tape glue is a bugger to get out of the beard..........
Saf , I understand, even with out weather the ferry is the decition maker. Heck, just before I became a member I working for 1 day on the mainland I drove by....some guy we both know , and even if I did at the time know him....wonder whooo it could be???? I still would have had to make a mad dash for the dam ferry..... Ya know.... since that day, my head snaps to the left so fast I can bite my ear!
Yah, there is a hoarder living this way. Nice guy, a bit of a recluse though - can never get him out for a coffee, but he does make a statement with his yard ornaments. You know, some people have those little garden gnomes, others silly things like Maw and Paw bent over with their butt's pointed to those passerby. And then there is................... The ferry is a major issue for us. I've got a sister on the Island who I last visited 8 years ago. I was sure it was less than that but after several "ahems" via email and then dead silence we figured we'd bite the bullet. $200 basically round trip. For that kind of money we could have put enough fuel in the vehicle to have coffee with the KK's. Be careful of that ear - they don't grow on trees
hopefully it snaps back in time for the intersection I dont know how you keep missing the "nail strip".................... watch what you wish for Ol poop....seriously...I almost called tonite on my way home to stop for a visit...but you know us poor bachelors...we have to feed ourselves ....maybe Thursday nite
Yeah.....they seem to get extra bent out of shape there if ya don't stop!:Blasting_anim: ....inside joke everyone.....Saf knows....
Actually, we happen to be meeting folks for seniors dinner night Wed (IHOP) Thurs evening (Swiss Chalet) so tough to catch us at home on those two nights but call. Love to see ya and if we are home early Donna always has coffee on. We could meet you for dinner one evening in WR so you don't have to eat your own food some night over the weekend or next week if that is an option for you. Or brunch, or......... As for the BC Weather - this was on the news tonight http://bc.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=824089 It is going to be cold and colder this winter. Batten the hatches Tedy, you guys always get it first and we just get the leftovers. Or that is our hope at least.
Well, as of Dec 21's we won't have to wory about winter! Quote... 21 December 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era.[8] Others suggest that the date marks the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon we are allways ready for winter and the storms, power outs etc.... I kinda figured we would have a cold winter and we allways seem to loose power so lots of fire wood is ready.....and I have 2 cans of coffee
