So far in central Illinois I'm not seeing many wagons of any kind. There were almost always a few beaters around our Florida town.
People here drive Suburbans, quadcab trucks, mini vans and SUV's.

Saw another two wagons lately. Both were the 1991-1996 Whale type; one was red with woodgrain, the other was that champagne color and no woodgrain. I'm not sure if I've seen these two before or not but it's funny I saw them one day after the other.

Come to think of it this reminds me of seeing a beat-looking white Whale w/woodgrain near Pittsburgh which had blue spraypaint on the back of it. I saw that one earlier this year.

Funny how many whales have shown up lately. I just saw another 1991-1996 type; light blue metallic finish with woodgrain. It was parked in Clarion near the campus. I didn't go up close to see it.

P.S. Does my 1999 Suburban count? :p It isn't considered a truck legally.

Since my last post I've seen these:

    >White 91 or 92 Olds Custom Cruiser in traveling north on I-79;

    >Blue with Woodgrain 91-96 Roadmaster in Meadville, PA (Parked at a house; )

    >Brown 70s/80s AMC Concorde Wagon in the Home Depot parking lot in Cranberry, PA (the Cranberry town near Franklin and Oil City, not the other Cranberry.) This one had "401" on the side and letters saying "DRAGGIN' WAGON" on the rear window and it didn't smell like it had a catalytic converter.

I've gone for months without seeing many then I saw 3 in one day although I did drive 100+ miles:

1: 1957 Chevy 150 Wagon in Black (my closest guess: )

I saw this one twice today. I tried giving a friendly honk and wave to the driver the first time, I don't think he saw me.

    2: 1978-1983 Malibu, Golden-ish color:

Spotted in Franklin, PA on Rt. 322. The driver had the tailgate up and he was hauling something.

    3: Full-Size 1977-1990 G.M. or 1979-1991 Ford or Mercury:

Parked in a driveway with the nose facing away from the road.

4 (if this counts,) 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer:

For sale and IMO, overpriced. I don't feel like describing it although the owner should ask about half of his price or less.

Chalk it up today for two more:

1: 1970s G.M. Mid-Size Wagon in Lemon Ice Cream Color, no Woodgrain; Spotted in Cranberry, PA (not Cranberry TWP) at about 1:20 PM. Whatever it is, its taillights are in a stupid place: the bumper. It's not of the later body style like Tedy's 82.

2: 1991-1996 Caprice or Roadmaster in Beige, No Woodgrain; Spotted on 322 going west while I went east later in the day. I'm not sure if I've seen this car before or not.

In the 6 months since I got the 85 CP - the only "real" wagons I seen is the red 60's Falcon at the drive/show in May and a
79-86 Tan Colony Park heading south on I-81, I was heading North.
1 of my staff drives a 93 Roadmaster as his daily driver,
other than that haven't seen any here In Harrisonburg/ Staunton VA - believe I'm the only wagon here in town

It's almost street spotting: while driving up to a bike trail, I passed a place I go by many times and a man just happened to have a garage door open for the lawn tractor. There was a 79-89 Mercury Grand Marquis Wagon sitting inside! However, once I looked up close I saw its last sticker on the license plate was from 2005 and it looks pretty rusty. Still, it may be a parts car.

We saw this little Dart at the last Hotrod's and Harley's of the year a few weeks ago.

    IMG_5909.JPG

A few days later we were driving through town and Nathaniel happened to see it down a side street in a neighborhood.
We swung back around so we could check it out.

That's awesome it still has its original plate, or one that was a follow-on. Those plates, even without titles, are getting scarcer than hen's teeth.
