Stations wagons as official cars at the Indy 500

Holy cow, Pacecal, you have some collection of pictures. How long have you been gathering them?

 

I'm collecting pictures on the web since 15 years.
I hope some people here would have some other pics to share, but it appears to be difficult.
So I'll share all the Indy SW's photos that I have.

I never thought about wagons at the Indy or really any other races but the drag races and Bonnieville. I was missing out on some pretty neat pictures. Thank you for posting them.

Here is a beautiful Mercury SW from the 1966 Indy 500 :

According to some websites, there were five special Cadillac Deville SW's build for the 1969 Indy 500 too. But I haven't been able to find any pic.

So, the Camaro was the pace car for '67 and '69. Interesting. I remember seeing alot of '69's on the road with the pace car emblems, but not so much the '67.

 

I have found no wagons from 1971 to 1976.
