Nova and Chevy II wagons go for ridiculous money no matter the condition for some reason. Just like early VW busses selling for crazy money. I like Nova wagons, but not for the money they go for. I'm sure I could pick 4-5 other wagons from this list that I would get to enjoy immediately and not require any work for around the same money as the Nova.

My parents had a 48/49? Plymouth - 1st car I can remember as a kid - when it rained the canvas roof leaked and mushrooms grew on the wood, my older brother always got to knock off the biggest mushrooms - cause he was the oldest by 10 months!

Just now getting to this thread... Thanks Jaunty for posting the pics and descriptions.....
    My $0.02....

    Post # 9 - Yellow/white custom '56 Nomad
    - BEAUTIFUL car on the outside, but that interior just doesn't cut the mustard, so-to-speak.

Post #11 - All black and stock '57 Nomad
    - $147k - 'all stock' brings big money. Of course, there's that other one later on that is all custom and cost BIG money, and IT brought $196k, I think it was....

    Post #12 - '57 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Safari (NOT a 'Nomad' Safari - it's a 4-door)
    - I'm a big confused by the labeling on this one. This SHOULD be labeled as a 'Star Chief Custom Safari.. TRANSCONTINENTAL', as it contains all the special trim and features the Transcontinental model came with. (The main identifying feature on the outside is the brushed aluminum lower trim from the rear of the rear wheel opening to the bumper.) The Transcontinental was a model brought out mid-year in '57, so it's not in the normal '57 Pontiac brochure.

    - As are others, I'm completely flummoxed why anyone would spend almost $19k for a bone-stock and well-used Chevy II wagon (It's not even a 'Nova' - just the base '100' model).

    Post #18 - '67 Chevy ('Malibu SS') 2-door wagon
    - This one is more complicated than it looks. Yes, there were 2-door Chevelle wagons, but ONLY in '64 and '65. The '66 and '67 Chevelles were on the same chassis, but had a different body, so it isn't just a matter of bolting on the '67 nose to a '64 or '65 2-door wagon body. I'm sure some major changes were involved. Nicely done. As I recall, we have a member here who is building something similar...…

Post #21 - Wagon Queen Family Truckster
    - As indicated, NOT one of the actual movie vehicles, but a fairly accurate recreation. I think I even spot the unusual 'gas filler door' on the right rear edge of the hood.

Post #24 - Absolutely LOVE the '47 Oldsmobile....

Actually, it was, in the catalog and on the website, just not on the info card.

I wondered about the description as it didn't say "Nova" anywhere on the car. But they called it a Nova on the site.

    Last one.

1948 Packard Standard 8 Woody wagon - sold for $26,900. Hard to believe you could get this for only a few thousand more than that "Nova" wagon.

I am in love with that black original 1957 Chevrolet Nomad and the original 1957 Pontiac Transcontinental.

Not many "deals" at Barret Jackson. Better have a pocket full of money. Great looking cars, thanks for pictures.

Love the Packard. The national Packard museum in Dayton is a must see for gear heads.

I'm still screeching over the '40 Ford wagon and the '47 Olds! That Pirate Surfmobile(?) made my eyes hurt!

Thanks for sharing Jaunty! Man, there are some amazing cars on these pages (both amazing "wow, that's awesome" and amazing "what - the -hail!?") My favorite has to be the original black 57 Nomad. That's the ultimate for me.
I would love to attend a B-J auction someday. I think it would be a blast to see everything.

I attended the Goodguys show in Scottsdale the weekend before Thanksgiving this year, and it was all very nice and well attended in this era of the pandemic. There were quite a few wagons there, and I'll post some photos here as soon as I get a chance.
