Had the wagon out and about on the first sunny NJ day in weeks, cruising at 70-72 on the Garden State Parkway.

Planning to have rust repair done in spring plus new door and tailgate seals installed at Coastal Classics in Jackson. (There is rust from below the surface on both sides of the car where the roof meets the thick colonnade pillars behind the front driver door and front passenger door).

Thank you, those two spots are the only real trouble rust areas on the body. I’m including a photo of the driver’s side (little blurry but shows where I’m talking about).

The frame has scale but is solid. The inner doors and doorframes had some surface rust when I got the car in August of 2022, but I prepped and rust-painted those areas and they’re holding nicely.

Same year as my Squire! Do you get "thumbs up" when you drive it too?

Nice! And yes, some thumbs up, but most folks have never seen a colonnade wagon with the unusual hatch rear and tail lights in the bumper. Out and about yesterday the owner of a beautiful dark green 1970 Monte Carlo checked the wagon out as he passed us.

My wagon is hibernating for the winter. In the spring after it warms up, I want to swap to Pontiac 6000 STE rear disc brakes. The drum brakes are finally worn out and won’t stay adjusted for long anymore. I’m no stranger to this swap, it will be the 5th car I’ve done it on.

Working on fixing up the garage, little by little. I've been storing spray paint, various spray bottles and chemicals, etc. in an old lateral 2-drawer file cabinet. I need more space, plus, I want to get all my gallon paint cans inside a cabinet instead of on top of the garage fridge. So, I've been looking for a tall METAL cabinet for all of it. New, you can order one on Amazon for $150 or so, and up, but I'm not sure of the quality of those. Saw an ad on FB Marketplace for a rather large used unit, for $95. Went to the place yesterday, and there were no keys for the lock, and the doors didn't have any latch to keep them closed. I said no. I told the guy what I was looking for. He brought me over to another area where he had an old Sandusky cabinet. Just the thing I was looking for. Needs a little bit of work, and some new paint, and I'm good to go. The price was..... $25 - SOLD! Filled up the car with gas and still had money left over from what I saved.

Cool! Those are nice scores. Free's better, but a Sandusky for $25? Can't beat that with a stick!

Currently getting the 410 block to my 67 Parklane machined and rods checked and balanced. The head, intake, crank, piston, cam, and assorted parts await in the garage. After that placing a new engine in our 98 Sable wagon since I acquired a NOS Ford block. So old short block out and all new short block in. Hope to get some painting in this summer but we'll see. Last replace the entire A/C in the 91 Mazda 626 with all the NOS parts I have acquired. The Ambassador will get cooling system work, brake work, and some suspension work this year. Maybe new Di-Noc next year. This on Wed. and Sun. Saturday has been reserved for the USS Hornet for the last 26 years.
