Here are some in Palm Dessert.... Tim Flock did a test drive in this one....He signed the glove door and the speed it went...
Not sure just where this car went to be restored... I hauled this one to Canada ..It is now back in the USA.
You probably know some of these Imperials and 300's too! I've never seen a 4-door Imperial Convertible, but there's a few in there. http://www.ch300imp.com/my57pics.htm With all that hands-on experience, how do you rate them for build quality?
LargeBarge72 found a No-Rust heaven in Arizona. Old Chryslers abound! (In case you need some good tin.) http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3659 EDIT: Here's the yard's website! Desert Valley Auto Parts: http://www.dvap.com/
Maybe Ford Fellow can answer this one. I wasn't aware of the '57 Imperials single headlight / dual headlight difference. Was this a running production change in the middle of the model year, or were the duals an option during that year?
The issue of single and quad headlights was because they were not legal in some states to have the quad headlights till later in the year...Most high production cars have single headlight for 57.... The build of all the cars had the same issues in one spot or another....panel lineament was a little more off than others but it is all a plus here and minus there....The Chrysler's were fast as was proved at Daytona in 56

The Rev says I'm the LINK INFESTER! It's handy knowing other languages and having a few other Search engines. Google may be the biggest, but it doesn't go everywhere, and just can't find everything. I was searching for info about my C4 tranny. The tag's first 3 letter's give the 'model' type - PEE. If I searched for just C4, I'd get explosives. If I don't put quotation marks, I'd probably get a bunch of tips on yellow snow or worse. So I went like this: "Ford C4 PEE". First page gave me what I wanted. That DVAP site is pretty good for old desert iron, eh? I'll bet we've still got a few old backroad Junk Yards with some fine Imperials parked in the weeds or a barn. I'd love to go cruising this year.
FF, you really do nice work, and obviously have a good reputation with collectors. Thanks for that great run on the Imperials and 300's.
There is still stuff out and about....It is tough to find as is put out back so to speak...A lot is picked up and then it languishes in a shed....A lot just go's to the crusher...There was a small old car yard in Clinton...Owner passed on and his kids came in and there was over four hundred cars and them just called up the crusher....they did put the cars up for sale but there was only a very few days to do the deal before they was crushed... Them all gone now....There was a lot of stuff from fifty's to seventy's there..
OH but only if we could go to that show room now and order one of them baby's..... The thought just drove me wild....
How's your heart? This is gonna hurt. I can't believe how civil the world was. 81 pages with everything CAR, from the 20's and up. From France, Canada, the US! Andy passed it on to me. That's where that Imperial dealership pic came from. You should see the dealerships from the 20's, 30's and up. Every make you can imagine. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/338226/page/1/fpart/1/vc/1
