Yeah...I love that design. But in a two tone. I'm having a hard time finding a good ticket to NY for the '94 Buick. May have found one now though. Trouble is, Pat may be right. Traveling around trying to see all these cars is a real pain. Sure would love to have one of those '59 Sierra's though. It would take a lot of money to get one to where I'd want it and the price is high going in. Not saying it isn't worth it...just a lot of money in the end. I wonder if either of those cars are matching numbers. Kinda doubt it.

    59 Dodge's

I'd bet both are still original drivetrain cars. The early bigblocks (58 to 62) use an 8 bolt crankshaft to go with the cast iron torqueflites. They have a smaller pilot hole in the back of the crank for the torque converter.Makes it a little harder to swap in a later engine. The early big blocks also have a 4 bolt valve cover which is pretty unique.Once you get into the musclecar era alot of Mopars are missing the original drivetrains.....swaps are way more common. Most of the pre 65 full size Mopars I've looked at have their original drive trains as the small valve cylinder heads; small AFB intakes and log exhaust manifolds make them kind of undesirable to the musclecar crowd. But then again the oldest Mopar Big block in my engine collection I pulled out of a 69 Super Bee 4 gear parts car....turned out to be a 59 Custom Royal 383 4bbl short block with the Super bee's top end!

40 minutes left on the black '59! Hope no one bids anymore so I can call them and find out what the price is. Probably outrageous.

    High bid $8700...Reserve Not Met.

I looked up Ogdensburg, NY...where the black '59 is located. It's way up on the Canadian border. The owners say that this car is NOT a rust bucket and, I must say from looking at it online, it doesn't APPEAR to be. Hard to believe, however, considering its location. ANOTHER car that's hard to get to!!

My great-grandpa had a 59 Fury Police interceptor, with the push button trans. He once took the car to the shop, where they laughed at him, when he complained that something must be wrong with the car because it squaked the tires everytime he took off from a stoplite.

The guy with the Black '59 Dodge Sierra did not meet his reserve at a bid of $8700.
The guy with the Aqua one let 'er go for $12,500!

I Tell ya, what I'd do to have that ride now. I've seen pics of it from the 60s. It was NICE!

OK...the black '59 Dodge Sierra wagon that didn't sell?
I emailed the guy and asked the price to see if it would be worthwhile to go see it. He emailed right back. The price is $14,100. FIRM.
Too much for me. I was hoping it would go cheaper than the aqua one.

Does anyone else feel that $14,100 is high from what you saw of this black wagon? They are cool looking wagons but I feel it's high....am I wrong?

I agree. The aqua / white one to me was much more desireable. If you consider that one 'worth' the $12.5K it sold for, then the black one should be worth only $10K or so at the most.

Is it LargeBarge or MoparGuy that lives in AZ, close to that Rustfree JY.

I'll bet with a few days in there, you'd find a grand body and all the bits and pieces to build one up for a lot less, and have all the fun of restoring it. They were mostly Mopars in his shots, but they must have some grand old wagons in there.

Figure $4,000 for rebuilding the drivetrain, another $5,000 for paint, maybe another $3,000 for upholstery, and throw in $2,000 for shiney wheels and rubber. New car from the 50's! Throw in $2,000 for transport and hotel. You'd know the beast from the wheelnuts to the roofrack, and all her history.
