Sure, you LT1 guys are faster, but I get better town mileage with my TBI, but then you get me again on the highway, SH*T, 2 to 1 to the LT1, haha.

I would still like to see someone do a Vortec 5700 swap into one and see how they run nose to nose. Have to admit, it would be cool to see how they match up. I bet it would be damn even the whole way down the track, infact, the Vortec might even take the LT1 if they were both tow pack cars, the TBI has the lower 3.23 gears and that will make all the difference in the world wen the engines put out nearly the same power and torque across the boards. If I find me a 91-93, I might have to look into doing a full Vortec swap, someday..........

That would be a good swap, but with LS motors popping up more and more in the bone yards you would be crazy not too do the LS swap. Hugh potential there.

I went back and forth on this so many times, it's not even funny. You all make great points. I ultimately decided to go with the LT1. It wasn't easy, especially when I ran across a super clean 92 olds that was begging to go home with me. I just think that the LT1 made the power cheaper than I could get the TBI to do it.

Although if the LT1 has to go, the LS1 will be the way to go. The upsides are to great not to reach for the most recent power package. Especially since their prices are getting so insanely reasonable.

The Vortec in my Suburban has been a great motor. It's at 230k, still running strong and plannng to go 300k without much trouble.

The new Roadie will be here soon, I can't wait!
