Thank you for your answers. Next week I have time so I can search the cause of the noise. Best regards Munzel
Geez ivy, I think you scared em off with that Wendy o' video. That electric chainsaw was pretty weak. The effect doesn't really stick when she pulls out a chainsaw I'm thinking "alright, something is about to be shredded" only to watch the 5 minute struggle just to get through that guitar
I was more fasinated by what appeared to be well placed clothe pins! Still no sound was an advantage.
Make sure not to look into your monitor, Sir. Just as Wendy O. managed to put out your eardrums, don't underestimate what she's capable of doing to your eyesight. And I don't mean clothespinning your lids shut. Well, I guess, you can't now accuse her of being a quick shooter or being able to boogie:
Let's rule out some stuff. Is it air conditioning related? Does the wagon make the sound with the A/C completely off? - I was just thinking one possibility could be a bad A/C compressor clutch.
Hallo, here comes the solution: the rattle came from the support from the power steering pump. It beats against the exhaust manifold. The cause was a missing screw. through the support and the exhaust manifold. It is mysterious: the garage changed the belts two times in the last 14 years and two times the screw was forgotten. Thank you for your thoughts. Best regards Munzel
I wouldn't say, "forgotten". Neglected is likely what happened. Why do you keep visiting a shoddy garage? Maybe, we should send Wendy O. over to that garage, to off the offending head, using her dull, weak chain saw.
Maybe... maybe not. I know the owner of the garage many years and they had in the past some problems with employees. It seems not possible for some people to think and screw at the same time. To find in Germany a garage to repair a car from USA is generally a difficult thing. Most of the garages knows only german/korean/japanese cars. Others says that they do so but they are extremely expensive.
To find an independent garage, in Germany, which can competently repair a German car or even bicycles is also not easy, these days. Our AUDI A6 was taken to a Bosch franchise garage and they left out many fasteners: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/threads/hi-folks-new-here-from-germany.44784/#post-396897
I once read a report in some car mag several years ago that Germans who owned German cars had very low opinons of German garages as well as their cars.
Much of it has to do with independent garages, as well as demographic changes. Another factor is the electronic gadgetry. If owners aren't going to keep their option list simple, they should expect a certain amount of consequences.
Yes, the number of problems increases rapidly with the amount of electronic things that are most of time unnecessary. The engines are also very complex with high emission standards and high power but low cui (to save fuel in the catalogue). Cars should be to repair simple. It's hard to find simple cars. Dacia? Maybe, but ...
