Sheeee fannie, time managment....I'm sure you have a dish washer! What a beautiful pup, not sure who has the better luck, you or baby
Love the bath pictures! She's a cutie! I'm so glad things are going well - you're doing a great job, Fannie! Skipper is very lucky to have found you.
Thanks guys, she is so much fun! Her latest discovery is snowballs. When we are out walking she likes to jump in the snow drifts which creates little snow balls and these need to be pounced on...oh yeah, walks are great fun.
Fanny, some dogs NEVER outgrow that. My Hurley STILL does that with snow balls. The fool thinks that everyone needs to pet him, too. Try as I might, there are still strangers he thinks are friends. His greeting it to try to jump up and grab the sleeve of their coats! 6 years I have been trying to break that habit, and so far, no luck. Oh, yes, walks are real fun! Effie keeps trying to make friends with the neighbourhood cats and when they run she is truly a beagle at full cry. Walks are also quiet, as you can imagine! Good luck with Skipper. Looks like you have your hands full with that one! She's a doll! I can tell she is as happy with you as you are to have her. Now you just have to get the wagon on the road, and the family is complete!
Oh no Mike, Skipper does greet people the same way as your Hurley. I was hoping she would grow out of it. She tries to catch crows like your Effie and the cats. However, Skipper is actually very quite, she lets out a bark every now and then when she gets excited chasing our cat.
I hope your Skipper has more than the one brain cell that Hurley and Effie each have! Hurley's brain CELL is named "Elmo" and Effie's is "Marge". The sounds they make decided the brain cell names. Then again, Hurley is 6 1/2 and still acts younger than Effie, and she's only 2 1/2. I'm afraid Hurley is going to be a puppy all of his life. I had hoped he would mature a LITTLE bit, but nope. Just as nuts as your average fool beagle. He still dances for coffee, too.
Mike, does Hurley like tug of war with the leash? Skipper loves this game, last night we almost made it all the way around the block, about three doors from our house when she started. The good part is it really tires her out.
Fannie - Jake and Elwood used to do that to me but I broke that habit quickly. I think they were objecting to the leash and I had get that under control while they were little - I didn't want to wrestle two 50 lb dogs chewing at their leash. I broke them of that by firming up the leash so that their heads would be raised - not harshly, but firmly. We'd trot like that for 30 seconds or so, then I'd let it go to a more relaxed position, then repeat as necessary. It didn't take too long (thankfully) and they stopped messing with the leash. I take them out on one, long, retractable leash with a Y connector at the end and they cruise along, side by side. They've been doing it this way since they were puppies, and they are pretty good guys now.
Mr. T is absolutely right about that photo. Perfect pose, perfect lighting (note the highlight and shadow on her face for example. Expertly done. mike
That is one thing Hurley doesn't do, Fannie. Of course, having a metal chain leash has something to do with that. Doesn't stop Effie, though. After all, that goat in a beagle body eats CocaCola cans!
Thanks for compliament for the picture but we just plopped her in the sink and took several until we got one that we liked...although hubbies over there patting himself on the back for being such a fine photographer.
BAD habit to condone. You should break Skipper of that habit ASAP. While your at it...teach him to heel. You will be the envy of other dog owners.
