We've got maybe 300 or more DVDs in 3 identical old VHS cabinets. Some great movies are too expensive to upgrade from VHS, so they're in there too.

We have no TV rabbit ears, digital convertor blackbox or cable. More that 4 years, and we don't miss it. When it comes time to pick a movie, she always wants something light and easy, funny or intriguing. I, on the otherhand like Action flicks, cowboy flicks, adventure flicks, and good who-dun-its!

Trouble is she criticizes my picks, but won't she pick because she doesn't want to be criticized. So we have one of those 3 cabinets, that we've nicknamed "Chick Flicks". When she asks me to dig one out of there, I tell her to get her own f'n movie. I'm not allowed to go in there any other time, so... Why don't we have a dog? I'd end up in the doghouse with it!

Stormin'Norman, like you, we haven't watched TV since it went fully digital. Bought several of the digital boxes for our 2000 model 60"TV, moved the antenae, got new rotor, antenae, more coax, etc. Still no signal thru the trees. They don't make a cable long enough to get to the boonies and I am not about to pay good money for another satellite antenae. Pay too much already for this crappy internet.
Also have many DVD's, Videos, and VCR tapes. But TV hasn't been on in over 4 years and we don't miss it.
I mess with computer. Wife plays games and does puzzles. Other times we make mad passionate love..........;)
So far the computer has kept me busy!

That's why we're the few remaining free-thinkers. Takes a while to break addictions. All the missing propaganda and no ads really helps cure us faster, keeps people out of your wallet, and encourages rediscovery of your spouse. Amazing how bright they are, eh?:drink:

Up here, a few months ago, your US Verizon wanted to buy a Canadian Cellular company. One article in our press, mentioned that almost 100,000,000 homes no longer have land-line phone service. Verizon was the biggest player in wireless home phone service.

My wife and I were talking about the nuisance calls we get, and wondered why we need our phone. The Internet is our news, recipe, hobby reference. We rarely call anyone. She calls her sisters once or twice a month on those $5 for 8 hour cards, and the Telco wants access to our accounts to withdraw their payments. Heck they can't even secure their own servers! Our postal service will no longer deliver to the door after this year, except registered and package mail. We'll have to go to a local outdoor community box, like the rural towns do.

So if it comes to force electronic phone bills, I'll cut both out and get a CB Radio! UP THEIRS! :taz::rofl2: We'll find some Internet Cafe, and do VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) calling. Nosey bodies, especially poking into our mattresses.:rofl2:

Norman, pay attention. We were getting lots of calls, usually a talking computer, trying to sell things or get us to vote all hours of the day and night. The local bill kept going way up and long distance was rediculous. We hated to do it but no longer have had a home phone for years. We don't miss it.
Wife bought a cheap cell phone. Gets a 1000 minute card for $32 with tax. That includes 1000 text and 1000 email minutes. All we use are the 1000 phone minutes and never run out in a month.
Also have a phone my son insisted I take free. He pays for it and a few others on a plan. On it just the family and friends talk free. I call it the kid phone. If it rings it's a kid.
1000 minutes is a lot of talking. There are all kinds of prepaid phone services for cell phones. Half the price or less than the home phone without the unwanted calls.

Our only problem was we bought three phones before we got one that worked in the boonies. Some people have to leave our house and drive a mile before getting service.

All kinds of Canadians are ticked, miffed, pi$$ed with our Cell companies. None of those features are available in Canada. Verizon was blocked from buying the Canadian company, by the current government, to keep foreign competition out. So they said... But it seems that whoever pays the biggest lobby fee can pucker up for a big wet kiss. With the Euro Trade deal close to being done, the French cell companies are making noises, forcing the existing Canadian companies to lobby and grease harder. :taz:

Viagra speaks for itself you won't have to say a thing when you walk into a room, just ask your doctor.

Oh, sorry, you said some thing else:p

Stormin': I have a prepaid Telus phone. $40 a month plus tax gets me unlimited voice, text and picture messages, unlimited international texts, unlimited incoming calls, 24/7 (when in my home area), unlimited local outgoing calls from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday to Friday and all weekend long. I use a CC Gold card for long distance. One cent a minute to anywhere in North America. Seems like a pretty reasonable deal to me. I have friends in Europe who pay a LOT more for less service!

Similar to the card I mentioned our son gets the $50 UNLIMITED card. They live on their cell phone. Talk, text, internet. Lots of plans out there without the hastle of a land line and all of those useless calls.
But if you need a good deal on a burial site in the swamps of Florida I can fix you up with one quick call.

No Telus on winterpeg that I know of. MTS, Bell, Rogers. Interesting enough. All I need is a tin-can setup with Andy, but my wife's calls to Mexico are the show-stopper, or I'd cut it out. $90 per month for MTS phone and internet, and the paper invoice! :banghead3:

It's a little known fact that Viagra was invented to keep male nursing home patients from rolling out of bed during the night.
