That radio brings back memories. When I first started driving a semi the company didn't get them with a radio. Some drivers rigged up portable units. Of course we didn't need the battery. Just used a cigarette lighter plug for 12V. My first radio was a used VW car radio mounted inside an Army shell box with a car antenne on top. The knobs stuck out holes. I later used vice grips to hang the antenne from one of the truck mirrors.
Same thing later when we snuck CB radios in our trucks. At first Company thought any type radio was dangerous and distracting.

Um... No we're not parents... We aren't officially trying until we get a place of our own again... and there's a good chance we can't actually have kids. So, I guess thats a 2 for 1 answer. We moved only in that we now rent the largest room in the residential section of our building. The job front hasn't yet yielded anything yet. That temp agency... well... I don't feel like going into the BS that happened with that disaster. All I can say is it baffles me as to how a place like that can stay in business. My glass art has been put on hold until I have a job. Alternatively, I found a book store that has agreed to look at my writing work and do readings, as well as selling any of my written work, even if it is just printed from a home printer. I'm excited about that and have been working on short stories when I have the time. Zoe's job is... a bit more tolerable now that they have new HR people. They had to fire that last bunch. That cats are quite happy and are actually a bit on the pudgy side so we have decreased, against their better wishes, the daily intake of food. Luckily they have lots of room to run and play and they leave their toys all over the place just like children. Zoe has been really supportive and helpful with my job searching as some of the jobs I have been applying for have required large chunks of my time. I haven't really posted because I was waiting for actual real good news... Specifically on the job front. Had one I really wanted last week that I beat out almost 1500 other applicants and made it all the way to the final interviews, which consisted of about 15 people and only like 3 being hired. It was close. I actually miss it even though I wasn't hired I did get to job shadow for the day... I din't know it but the guy I was shadowing turned out to be the president of the company. Who knew that a boss could/would still work the same work as everybody else. Awesome company staffed with awesome people! I should actually be asleep right now but I have been so full of drive and excitement the last week or so that I'm still sleeping in spurts, usually 2 - 3 hours at a time. Been doing that for months now so I guess its become a normal for me. Gonna go now. Talk more when I have the time. Thank you all!
