That's awesome. First time I saw an image of one of these I think it was on the wagons in vintage street scenes thread. It was hooked to the back of a Ford wagon and I just assumed that it was a custom homemade job.
There is one for sale here locally. I came across it just a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe it, since I was pretty sure they are super rare.

Not sure. I can probably find out. Unless that is if it isn't sold already.

Thanks again, I’m finding love and hate for the FMX. EC004140-40CE-498F-A2D6-6FEA1BAC7996.jpeg

I've heard that. A local transmission guy told me he can't parts for Toploader four speeds anymore - hard to believe as popular and tough as the toploader was. Personally I've never dealt with an FMX, only C4's in Mustangs and my CS. I'd love to find a non-electronic AOD to put behind the 302 in my CS but haven't ran up on one yet for the right price.

Like everything else, as newer technology sets in, the older becomes obsolete with fewer and fewer people knowing how to work on them. Try to find someone to repair a tube radio or TV, for example. FMXs are the same.

    I assume it's actually a 390, not a 490.

I asked and he said so many things. It might be a 460 modified but not a 390.
It has a running 289 and trans also, so I have a few options. I am pretty sure the convertible will take center stage once it gets here tho.

I still have the ‘58 to play with too!

Could be a moderfied 460. That would be rad. Put some BOSS 429 heads on it.
I am super peanut butter and jealous about this deal. I can't wait to see what you do with this project.

This is kind of cool to watch, brought back a lot of memories of my childhood that was far longer ago that I realized until I watched this

I can’t wait either but the parts and the hardtop are at 3 different locations. We’ve agreed to make the transaction at the end of June giving us both time to organize. This is the 66 convert. Starts right up with a fresh battery and a little bit of gas to prime it. (New gas tank too).

I’ve driven by this car at a local repair shop for over 10 years.
It wasn’t for sale when I dropped the Camaro off for exhaust. I don’t know why I kept asking but it paid off.
Once this one is safe for the wife to drive then the fun begins…

Holy Resurrected projects, Batman! So how's the drop-top running these days, Jeremiah? Have you driven it lately?
