I sure hope that all of you are enjoying your cars as much as I am mine. After 30+ years sitting our 58 is pretty darn roadworthy now and dang fun to drive.
It’s been a challenge as I knew from the start but worth the effort and the wait.
I’m glad I didn’t make any of the trendy changes that have since passed and stayed as original as possible.
We’re taking it to cars and coffee and a small cruise/show at a local church this weekend after that it’s just free range roaming from now on.

They certainly would sound like the line from Bull Durham:
"I want to announce my presence with authority!"

Our unscheduled thunderstorms have put a damper on our plans to attend Coffee and Cars at Fastlane as I haven’t any wipers or real front windows in the 58. Maybe next month.

Glad you are enjoying it as she sits. With as rare as that body style is it would be a shame to tub it, or French the doors or other modifications. Great car. Fix it and drive it in good health.

I love it. It’s like going back in time. No a/c, no pb, ps just the wing windows and the floor vents for air circulation.
It rained all day so she didn’t get to any group gatherings today.
I’ve been getting it out on the highways more and it drives better each time.
I still have to go thru the rear end and then bodywork. It’s come along quicker than expected but a long way to go.
I wasn’t looking for another car but ended up with this 55 Dodge wagon.
I’m learning that it’s a bit on the rare side too.
    thanks again.

*update——-it was last seen downtown Florissant at or near Fritz’s Frozen Custard Stand.

we’re trying to lure you back…
you should know this car. It’s been at the same house on Elizabeth for almost 45 years. We learned just last night that it’s 45th anniversary with the owner is the same day as our wedding anniversary on the 17th.
We haven’t been married that long but what a coincidence.

    the vet is a 62

Well it certainly would have been up and down the street while my aunt and uncle were there. They had a friend that lived across Elizabeth about 4 houses down that was a Metropolitan owner. I remember seeing quite a few old cars. My sisters piano teacher lived off of Elizabeth. She drove a really pristine’58 Pink Mark 3.

I have seen a couple metros at local shows. I’m going to keep my eye out for the Mark 3.
Some more ol timers include a yellow coupe around ‘32. He lives at Hudson and Elizabeth. The old guy with the Nova, red Challenger and triple black cuda passed away. He lived next to Paul’s Market.
My new buddy Chuck with the Galaxie graduated in 77 from Mclure and drove a Galaxie XL.
