:confused:I had a Chevy van and a Dodge van. Had more fun camping with those than any RV we've ever owned. But I don't smoke and was never a hippy. So we are probably talkin a different topic. :rofl2:

I have another project you guys may or may not know about it's a 79 Chevy 2500 Van Dura redykamp. I have rhino lined the entire floor and have built a queen sized bed frame and rebuilt the toilet platform so far. Should be a super camp mobile when it's done. Oh and a 15000 btu heater for my sweetie and a sweet mini fridge for yours truly. :beerchug:

We found a good air mattress is the most comfortable bed yet. Get one that fits, like maybe a queen or full size. We even put one in our short bed in the pickup and used it one nite last summer. Only trouble is getting the air warm. We add quilts and sometimes a sleeping bag.
When we were yonuger we used those $1 swim float narrow mattresses, Probably $5 now if they still make them. But they squished and would loose air. As we age, we are more tender. The modern air matresses are great. :D

The queen we purchased for the van is a pillow top, it's so not like camping at all, but I'm with you Cat as we get older that sleeping on the ground $hit is for the birds. It's so nice to wake up without an ache or pain and still be out in the hills.
