Simca produced the last flathead Ford V-8s, under license. I don't know what American Ford flatheads had for displacement. But, I can imagine that the French cast them with smaller bores and perhaps even their own shorter stroke crankshafts, if it was to conform with their standards

That's crazy. According to the google machine that comes out to 146.5 cubic inches.

That engine in the Esplenada is the early flathead Ford with overhead-valved heads

Re-reading my post it may seem as though I didn't believe that is true.
That's not the point I was trying to convey. I'm sure it's true, it's just fantastically amazing to me that it is. I never would have guessed it.

It was only that small, because it was of the earliest thirties engine tooling which was sold to Chrysler. Ford kept all later flathead tooling for themselves. In other words, the newest flathead was essentially the oldest. That would be like having your mother give birth to your great grand father, to simultaneously exist as your younger brother

These publicity photos of a stripped down Austin apparently were taken for use by a Willys dealer in Grand Rapids to promote the sale of its used cars. The car is an Austin Seven manufactured in the UK by the Austin Motor Company Limited between the years of 1922 to ’39.

They made it a point to build this one-seater with rightish-hand drive. I didn't know that Grand Rapids even had a fountain or what is that for a monument
