    Back then very few city dudes had a water closet. Washing potatoes in an outhouse wasn't practicle.
    I don't think people in those wagon trains washed their potatos. They probably did like we did years ago, just wiped most of the soil off and cooked the taters.
    I've been to Idaho, I've seen where potatoes grow and get shipped from.

    You don't even need to cook them. They're also tasty, when raw. Just look those potatoes in the eyes and pretend they're saying to you, "Eat me raw, Sir"

    It's the look of surprise as the towed load fishtails into the ditch and gets the truck's front end off the ground.

    I just got the news a short while ago that my 87-year-old dad just passed away in hospice care. I know that it is sad news, but Dad loved the things I would share with him from this forum, he got a kick out of some of the funny WTF moments I would read to him.
