Hell, I used to stand up in the back seat and play with my Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars on the package tray!

 

That's because they all went into racing boats and got blown up. Races were held on the Ohio river in Madison, IN. They made a movie about it starring Kevin Costner and Robt Duvall.

 

If you're referring to "Madison," which I love since I love Thunder Boats (Seattle's Miss Thriftway and the Slo-Mo-Shun V are two favorites from back in the day), had Jim Caveizel (a native son of Mount Vernon, WA, about 20 miles due North of me here in Everett) and Bruce Dern. I loved the part where they needed new engine parts so they raided a P-51 sitting on static display in the local park.... I know they definitely ate up their share of available Allisons back then, and likely why the Unlimited Class had to go to gas turbine power. I remember the first one, the Miss Pay-n-Pak, do a 540* backflip on the Columbia River back in the early '80s during the Gold Cup race.

 

I'm curious to know what kind of chassis was used for this wrecker?
