    It is doctored. That was a 'thing' to do back then. Funny how Photoshop, selfies and other things associated with the digital age actually had analog counterparts, but are not acknowledged?

    No.

    The boat sunk in 1859 or so and was unearthed in 1988. Really, the food was in a cold (but not freezing, evidently as the jars weren't broken) and dark place for a long time.

    That's a perfect place to store fruit cake. In fact I suggest putting all fruit cakes in an old ship and sinking it to the bottom of the ocean.

    Back in WWII, there was a cargo ship full of yo-yos that was torpedoed by a U-boat.

    It sank 40 times....:rofl::jumping::biglaugh::rofl2::burnout:

    Why yes...U-boat crews always had at least one Nazi fruitcake embarked.

    I'll bet STORY LAND is long gone and mostly forgotten.

    That's usually what happens. Just like with drive-in theaters, the land is way too valuable as suburbia creeps outward.

    That's nice about Story Land. I still remember taking our son to Christmas Village in Maggie Valley for his birthday one August at least 15 years ago. Never too old to be a kid.

    I still remember the day when we were picking cherrys at a farm in Wisconsin. Came back to our car and cows were licking it.
