That's not patina. That's a very unhealthy wagon.

I don't know, it seems to be a nice earthy contrast to all that white stuff on the ground. What's with that? It isn't even winter yet

No two ways about it. You are down to some VERY thin primer there. The car is solid, so now is the time to break down and paint her. Leave her much longer, and the rust is going to pop out all over and be a major job to fix. The factory primer is not a flat paint. It is not there to protect the body. It is there to provide a mating surface for actual paint. Leave it like that for a long time and water penetrates it, and rots the body panels. I like to see an original car, battle scars and all, but that is well beyond battle scars.

I totally agree. The car has been in a covered place since delivery took place. This is going to be a full rotissorie restoration as all my cars are.
It will be totally stripped, and the underneath will look like the top side when completed. I will remit photo's when the work commences.
I am still looking for a few wagon interior trim pieces before starting.
I like having all the difficult parts rounded up in place before disassembly starts.

Wow thompsons water seal-whoda thunk that? Im going to try it. I have a Convertible w/nice paint and am always scared to drive it some places. I also have a Vista Cruiser that has plenty of patina in fact it's rough. I think I'll leave it as is and drive it on dirt roads, etc Just make it reliable... Whats up w/the italics-dont know how I did that??..
