I saw a commercial this morning on Velocity channel that the next "Chasing Classic Cars" TV show will have a Panhard going to auction that is owned by Wayne Carini. They didn't show a picture during the commercial but I will tune in to see what's up.

    Hello everybody!

It will be interesting if you could get pictures of that car I don't know whow Mister Carini is but he seems to be known on the web!!!

    Thank you for your encouragements!.

While sanding, we descovered a thick coat of mastic on the front right fender... The car have been accidented:banghead3:

After doing all of these jobs, we apply seals to protect joins and apply first cover of protecting paint

    Well! the story goes...!

First painting coat with its new color!

The name of this color is "vert tilleul" "Lime tree Green" According to archives of Panhard there were only 7 PL17 Wagon with this combination of color, the roof is now black. I wouldn't keep the original colors (white and Grey) but I wanted to keep a combination of the model and of the year.

After this paint I was able to begin to raise the car:party3:

That's a unique front suspension - don't think I've seen that setup used on the front. Corvettes used that setup in the rear for a lot of years. Can you tell us about the engine and trans - how many gears in the trans, what's the engine displacement? Keep up the good work!

    Hi!

Front suspension is a strang one but very efficient, it means you couls drive like a crazy man in curves, the car is "sticking" on the road... Unfortunatly we do not have enough power...:taz:

Gearbox is a 4 gear since 1946 all in aluminium (like the engine) general weight for engine + Gearbox is 205 pounds, Cu inches are 51,87 for 60 horses power.

I started the engine for the first time last Friday....

I can upload videos is anyone could explain to me how to insert one?

Those are pictures of after painting and before reassembly

You're doing a great job! Air cooled engine - no radiator? The aluminum polished up nice! It sort of has an aircraft engine look to me.

She is absolutely glorious! Can't wait to see the old girl completely done! Have to say, I can't wait to see your whole collection of Panhards together. An incredible set of cars.

    Hello!

air cooled engine Effectively, cylinders are in one piece (like airplanes) without dismontable cylinder head.

Here are a few pictures of Reassembly : doors, moudling, litle parts door locker etc.

I have a question for you guys. When i rebuilt completly the breaks with all new parts I wanted to keep them in perfect condition for a lot of years.
That's why i used Silicone brake fluid (Harley Davidson one) instead of DOT 4 brake fluid. 3 years ago it was impossible to bleed correctly the brakes.
I didn't try again since thoses days but is somebody already heard about this (problem) ?
I wonder if i should put that silicon fluid away and fill again with normal fluid or if I should insist...:hmmm:

    Bye

I would think by age and european specs this car would run natural rubber seals on all the brake systems, therefore a DOT 4 fluid would actually be corrosive to this type of rubber. A mineral based fluid would be ideal. There is a Castrol brand fluid that is called LMA that works perfect for this.

I love the car. It is looking great! You should be proud of the work you are doing saving the car. I guess it wasn't quite ready for the crusher after all. :disagree:

Thank you to all for your encouragements!

Crusher... Thats what i had to do before Rather than to gobble up all this money on that car... But now I hope that i will finishe it soon and start driving it:chirp:
Thes pictures corresponding to the actual state of the car, I need to install the rear windows, the front left one, the windshield, bumpers, to bleed these:lolup:brakes!!!

About my brake question: I use normally in all of my cars DOT4 fluid without problems except bleeding the entire fluid each year. I didn't know that it was not adapted:outtahere:
