Only other vehicle we have right now is the wifey's 2012 Ford Edge (SEL / AWD). Bought it in early 2014 with around 18k miles on it. We've got around 52k on it now, and it's been incredibly trouble-free. Great performance and decent mpg from the 3.5 V6. Loaded with features, and it isn't even top-of-the-line.
Fusions are righteous cars. My aunt and uncle have an 08, IIRC. Keep up on the maintenance and you'll be a proud, happy pappa.
My sister just bought this yesterday. Her '06 PT Cruiser was starting to make bad noises, she said. Hubby has a '12 or so Grand Cherokee. And, on another front, our #1 daughter calls the other day to tell us she's preggy (1st grandchild!), so her long-in-the-tooth '04 Focus 3-door needs to be replaced with a mommy-mobile. I'll have to help her pick out a good one, for practically zero $$$.
I hate TP Cruisers. I swear to God, my last shop had a phalanx of owners, and sonofagun if those damned things were needing belts more than one per week, for almost half a year. A total PITA to do just the belt, you couldn't do 'just the belt.' No, nonononono, you also had to do the tensioner and the water pump, for which EVERYTHING had to come off the front of the engine just to access the water pump, so as long as the cam gears were off, new cam oil seals, new crank oil seal. A total bugger of an engine, definitely designed to screw the owner at the stealership.
And to access everything on the front of the longblock, you had to raise the car to remove a few things, then stick a jack under the oil pan and raise/lower the engine as extremely as possible to remove bolts and parts--just for access!!!
Way too many autos...almost all Buick's. Daily's are mostly Ford's now (hate that the "old" GM drank the Kool-Aid). Here's a couple of the car's I show...
Seems like every other vehicle on the road now is sort of red, not real red. Nearly two years ago I bought a 2014 Impala, called salsa red. Counting a round trip from Florida to Illinois and moving back to Illinois I added almost 10,000 miles in those two years to the 20,000 it had on it. Honestly, we could almost get by with a bycicle. So far it's been a great car but I miss owning a truck. With the 300 HP v-6 it gets 34 MPG highway and been staying 26 MPH mostly city driving so it's far better than my hemi truck. I still have the 1955 Chevy wagon minus lots of engine parts our youngest son "borrowed", my 1941 Ford that's basically a Chevy in discuise, also minus many parts my son "borrowed". Which means they are both non-drivers. Still sort of have the 1939 Ford deluxe coupe that's another Chevy in discuise. Owned it since the early 70's. It's in my oldest son's garage because I regretably have no energy or room so I gave it to him. Also sort of still have the 1948 Chevy 1/2 ton panel truck custom that's now in son in law's garage 'cause I gave it to him. I still have all the titles and they are not 'car guys'. So not sure what's gonna happen to them. Down sizing, moving, and getting old takes all the fun out of being a car guy. Yet still having them and being able to sit in one going uddin uddin is exciting!
