Thanks for the warm welcome. It's a 3rd gen 1998 Ford Escort Wagon SE. I got it from a relative who was the original owner and took it into the dealer religiously so the car was in pretty decent shape other than normal wear and tear.

After I bought the car I decided I'd shake off some of the grocery getter image and proceeded to do a few performance improvements to make it funner to drive on the street.

So far I've gone through the suspension and replaced the rear sway bar with a heavier duty one to balance out the front sway bar since the car originally came with an inadequate rear bar. I also replaced both front and rear endlinks and hold downs with poly bushings to stiffen up the suspension a little more. Front struts were leaking so I replaced them and added some Megan lowering springs to help improve the steering geometry. I rebuilt the front DB calipers and replaced the stock rotors with a new set of slotted and drilled rotors. I replaced the stock rear drum brakes with a set of rear disc brakes off of a 2nd gen Escort GT. I also swapped out the stock SOHC 2.0 SPI motor and auto trans with a DOHC 2.0 Zetec motor and manual 5 speed trans. I swapped out the stock exhaust manifold with a set of shorty headers and replaced the stock 1 7/8" exhaust pipe with 2 1/4" pipe to let the engine breathe a little better. Borla Muffler to round out the exhaust note.

Rattle can paint job, side skirts from the aforementioned 2nd gen EGT, Tracer front bumper cover and side view mirrors and fog lights, MX3 recaro style bucket seats, and a whole host of other little goodies that I've done. I'm currently replacing the stock stereo system and am moving to improving the interior of the car with a color change along with sound deadening/heat barrier the doors, floors and roof.

Here's a more detailed link if anyone's interested:
