Nice ride. Would make a wicked woody too! Will be nice to see it come together. Sorry to hear you can't make modern day upgrades, but you can still do quite a bit with the old stuff and it can be very reliable. Love that wagon! (y)

Bad luck - the rear door seems to be made out of aluminium - so no welding with the VW rear window cut out possible.

But see some pics for the taillight switch. The new sheet metal is inserted edge to edge, not welded on top.

That's the stock location on a 1941 Ford car for the rear lights.[IMG]

You're right, Denny - thought that the taillights are 90° turned at the Ford !
Now I've to correct: the taillights will be fixed at the Chrysler the normal way.
    Thanx for updating me.

The good thing about that is they will be in focus. Many of those old lights and their glass are directional and not bright if not correctly positioned. I like those 41 Ford lights. I also had to use BRITE BULBS because they are not too bright.

Update: no more two tone paint - Jaguar Black Cherry matt all over.
No TH700 - after taking a closer look to the fluid drive transmission (it's hydraulic semi automatic version) and how it works, I decided to stay with it.
I'll add 1939 Chevy taillights in the rear for the turning lights.
Found a nice roof carrier, too.
Wheel caps for the original steel wheels will be from Moon.
And see the exhaust extension !
