    Quick stop in alpine, tx.
Trips been beautiful so far but a whole lot of nothing out here.
    Next stop El Paso!
Many more beautiful miles to go, and the anticipation of my first date with my new lady is driving me mad.

    20160531_140926.jpg El Paso!
Heck my new lady has all the options, such a rich girl... I'm glad a friend of mine found a few 8 tracks, I can try out her AM / FM and 8 track premium sound system lol Unfortunately for y'all it's tomorrow I see her, I just get to bore you with status updates lol.
Now it's the first time in almost 10 years I'll be leaving Texas, I'll be back quick as I can, so don't tell any Texans I left.

Comparable tire sizes to JR78-15 would be:
    P225/75R15
    P235/70R15
    P265/60R15
    P275/50R15

For your purposes, I'd go with one of the middle two.

OK thanks, hitting a ton of dead zones I'm this thing, I'm in aridzona now and its cool got some pics I will post up sometime. I can't wait till tomorrow then I'll have a ton of pics of my new lady, and hopefully some historic locations on the way back. I saw a really neat cement teepee that would make a great pic.
Anyway may not be able to post much more until tomorrow, with all the dead zones and stuff.
Anyway here's a hint of what she looks like, krash that link you gave for the 74 wagons? She's the 73 version but the same golden paint.

Ok folks sorry for the delay! I ran into a few hiccups, pics will be coming soon I promise!
What I got is that 1973 Mercury Colony Park that was in arizona, you can see the pics on the craigslist ad in that thread to tide you over.
She isn't as bright yellow as the pics show, shes more of a soft gold, very pretty. Unfortunately shes been sitting in the Arizona sun and is a bit faded, including inevitably her wood trim. :(
She also got a bit nervous for our first meeting, and over heated and peed herself... I haggled for a lower deal because of the paint, and mainly the little mishap.
Since she did that I decided driving wasn't an option as you do NOT want to get stuck out in those deserts, so I rented a Uhaul, and tow trailer, and towed her home.
That was an all night trip as I had to work today... was...interesting and we'll leave it at that.
Anyway, I fired her up earlier, took her off the trailer... checked her fluids (filled her full of coolant before I towed her) and ran her for awhile, then drove her around... no overheating, no peeing her self, she seemed to be enjoying being driven again.
She needs a bit of maintenance, her radio works on am but not fm and I had to plug the antenna back in, the 8 track works, speakers sound good, crisp, clean.
The windows work but they are sticky, go up and down slow, and the passenger mini vent fell into the door panel...
and the power locks are sticky as well, but a little bit of brake cleaner than white lithium grease should solve that problem.
The back door does not lock, with key, or powered, any ideas?
The vents have no air, just the one in the top of the dash, it blows, and with A/C on blows cold, any ideas? vacuum leak? cable sprung? need help with that one.
Oh and I had an oops moment when I adjusted my self in the car and honked the horn, apparently it has rim blow! I never had that before, my dad laughed his ass off, said my grandpa had that on his grand marquis (1970) and he HATED it. :D
Other than that she runs and drives well, and I probably could have drove her back, but I just didn't trust a gal that got a bit nervous on our first date. All the work so far is minor, just maintenance, and I think she's going to love being in her new home, the garage of my 1971 ranch house. Right now she looks quite at home in the driveway.
I think I did good, and as soon as I'm able I will take pics, I promise, checks in the mail!
Oh and before I forget, she does have the facing jump seats, and all the seats feel new, no rips tears anywhere in that car! even the carpet has a fresh look. Last but not least, she didn't have her manuals, or as my brother said "glove box junk" but I found an eBay action for a 73 colony park complete set of "glove box junk" the manual, radio manual, air conditioning manual, the build sheet, a cut out of a ford oil can , and some other papers I'll look over soon as I get it on the 7th.
Now if this blasted monsoon rain will stop here in the lone star state, maybe then I can get some decent pics of the gal.

I got very few on my phone, with the problems I ran into, and the timing of everything, and hauling it... didn't take many... sorry folks! I was hoping the trip back would have been a bit more casual, and I could have got some vintage style roadside attraction pictures... but alas it wasn't meant to be.
So when the weather picks up and it stops trying to drown us  I will get some bright sunshiny pics of my barge in front of my house, other than the color of my house (which was the color when I bought it, and not very 70's...) they look good together.
