Thanks, Yes it is the base low level fury 1. I was amazed to find it. It has the same lack of interior and body trim as our Fury 1 2-door sedan, complete with the radio block off plate in the dash and same V/8 drivetrain etc... However in our family car, my family decided to splurge when they bought the fury 1 and added the dealer installed radio that was negotiated on the invoice. We brought the car back to the dealer to get it installed about 3 weeks after the purchase when the radio came in. I still remember sitting in the front seat while the mechanic drilled a hole in the front fender for the antenna. (Back in the day when the kids could sit in the car while being seviced) I never saw anything like it. I thought our new car was being destroyed when I saw that drill boring into the fender. Something I'll never forget. Your right, it was very common to see the fury II and fury III cars and wagons in the day, I never knew about the the lower fury I wagon model until many years later. There is a 1965 fury 1 4-door sedan in the same color on CO. craigslist for 1,500.00. It would be nice to see someone save it. It has the same color paint and peeling as my wagon. I am pretty well filled up with my current wagon collection and could not save it. Maybe another Mopar fan could.
I agree, I have already started to skim through the various boards. There are some really great things here. Thanks for the warm welcome.
Thanks for the welcome. I have had many large (fake) woodies over the years and have kind of clung on to the name. I thought it would be a fitting user name for the fake woodie 65 small Squire wagon I still have along with the 66 Fury 1 Steelie. Those darn termites won't have a meal on my cars unless they don't mind a little fiberglass rail and Di-Noc paper indigestion. Just as well though I can't afford to restore a real woodie.
