Westu - wish you luck in you quest, if you cut across PA on the turnpike, then thru Ohio on the turnpike, you going have almost $100 in tolls each way, plus you going to go thus another $200 in gas, would be shocked if you could to the trip under $500
The car in the car ground, is that an AMX? or maybe a Nova??? The tails lights look to long to be a Nova...
Well, I made it home with the wagon today. Nothing like driving a 2wd uhaul truck in MI with 7-10" of snow.... And having to go all around the state to get the 'right sized' trailer..... Well, kudos to my wife, putting up with all this, and having to get back to NJ today to take a flight to Ralegh tonight.
I will post some more pictures tomorrow, but overall, I'm satisfied with the car. It was a little rougher than the craigslist ad had described, but overall, really a solid car! BTW: I was able to rent the trailer seperately from the truck. The truck was able to be rented with a multi-day discount, and discounted mileage. The truck and trailer cost me about $900 from NJ to MI and back in about 36 hrs. MAC: the toll for OH tpk: 12.50 from Youngstown area of 80 to Toledo, With the trailer back, I think was $45, The gas was the cost, about $200 for the round trip. Wes
Sounds like quite the adventure. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos of it all safe and sound at your place.
So I finally got the title in my name. I now have a registered NJ motor vehicle. I replaced the rear springs to restore some of the rear sag. I repaired the steering column slop with a plastic ring around the upper bearing, worked perfect! I got some of the maintenance now up to date, inc. oil change, new air filter, normal wipers, and inspect/grease front end. found the upper control arm bushings broken/worn. They're ordered, and I have new front shoes, haredware and grease seals for the front brakes. During the oil change I found that the driver side was missing the castle clip that holds the front wheel bearing nut in place, then found no grease seal on that side, and grease contaminating the shoes, as well as leaking wheel cylinder. Once parts are in, more work to do. Meanwhile some more pictures....
So I have the 20" wheels from my Challenger. I need new tires for those rims. I have a videogame: Forza, that has a 1966 country squire. The wheel design in the game is close... Minus the wood paneling, what do you guys think?
The wheels are a sleeker design then I prefer but it's not about me, it's about what you like. I do like the color comb and the dark windows.
I like the 5 spoke wheels on the one from the game. Of course you won't know until you put the actual wheels on the actual car. You may find that the big wheels won't work with your stock suspension configuration. The rears may bolt right up, but the fronts could be a nightmare.
