It was a chore but I got everything off, then the new fenders went on fairly smooth. Next was the header panel backing/bracket? and it was too bent and twisted to use, so I'll have to hunt another one down. Damn junkyard ganked me.

Tomorrow I will post the pics, the wagon is all one piece again and looking good. It even has the hood ornament it was lacking when I bought it.

Ok here it is all together except for the header panel and headlights bracket. The guy over in Maysville had just called and said he'd located the bracket, by the time it was all together it was dark.

The Maysville yard had a 1969 Impala, a 1964 mercury, and another old wagon I couldn't tell what it was. Might be a good source for some hard to find parts.

I drove home slow and alert, tomorrow I'm hunting down some deer whistles. I must really like my wagon, I didn't waste any time making it whole again. A nice surprise was the new hood, unlike my old one the engine light and cylinder to keep it raised both work. The white front actually looks pretty good on the car, it doesn't really clash with the other color.

One slight problem is the front marker lights. I haven't figured out how to make them stay put, they're held in place by a spring and keep popping out.

Now I shall tell the tale of how I nearly crashed it yesterday. I was driving the byways to St. Joe to get a tool kit (and I'm taking that Craftsman CRAP back) with my uncle. We were hitting on a doob and discussing our plans for a restaurant.

Suddenly I notice we're running out of road, we'd come to a T and I hadn't seen the stop sign (in all fairness it's tricky to spot). I locked up the brakes, we went across the thankfully empty highway, and what brought me to a dead stop was hitting a metal sign which was knocked over. It pushed the bumper in on that side about an inch, a chain pulled it right out later. The nose was off the shoulder, my uncle had to get out and push so we could head on our way. Guess that almost makes it even for him rolling us a couple months back.

It's been proven time and again that deer whistles don't work.
If they did they'd be mandated by law to be on every car, at the least the auto insurance companies would make them mandatory on your car to write a policy and they'd install them on your car for nothing for the millions it it would save them in claims every year.
Better off having a speaker on the front of the car playing Neil Young electric guitar solos, that would scare anything away.:rofl2:

Here is a side profile, getting ready to go wash and vacuum it out now that it's cleaned out.

Sad for your car and the dumb animal, sounds like it suffered.
I blasted one decades ago, hard enough that instant death was a certainty, the Pontiac survived.
The car looks like an easy fix. Too bad no rifle aboard to finish the job and have venison stew
EDIT; I see you're done and it's better than before(hood ornament), congarts (y)

It's right up there toward the top...........:rofl2::taz:

I don't care what anyone says about deer whistles. I've used them for years and seen many deer stop dead in their tracks when I got near. Which is way better than stopping dead after I hit one!:yup:
