You are right Krash. Going to the dealer was exciting back then. You were always amazed at the luxurious cars and wondered who could afford to buy one. Every dealer had a variety of beautiful and unique to that brand cars on their showrooms floors and lines of them on the lot. Oh, those were the days:thumbs2:

Oops, I forgot about the 65 1/2 model. I had never seen one either, until that pic. I had a 66 Caprice 2-door one time, but the body was too far gone to save. I pulled the 327 out of it, mainly because it was a small journal (aka 302) and it had a factory iron intake with a 600 Holley on top. Somewhere, I think I still have that intake.

:biglaugh:, yeah, you'd be screaming 911 with the voice a little girl:rofl2:

I'm just a step behind in age from most but I do remember lots from my diapers age. I clearly remember my Dad's 63 Merc Montery breeze way hanging out the back window.....and I remember the @@s wipen I got for throwing his hat out down the highway:rednose:. I remember the car seat I had, it had a stearing wheel and a sqeek horn and Mom and Dad telling me I was the one driving the car. I remember Dad buying the new 70 Cougar, Consolidated Motors (ford) in Winnipeg, the car was in the show room, Mom was in hospital and Dad put me in the drivers seat and said "Stay here boy" and I could see Dad and the sales man doing ther thing then guys in cover alls opening the big glass doors and driving a car out, then Dad putting me in the back while a guy in blue cover alls drove the car out of the show room...I remember alot of Pop, chips, and candy good times while looking at all these really cool cars with colour and personality.

[IMG]This is close to what it looks like only white with blue interior. I guess once I get it I'd like to find the 3rd seat, I've got a lot of bambinos to stuff in the thing. :)

One thing about growing up as a 'car nut' -
I wasn't a mechanical expert, but from about the age of 13 up, I knew everything about the new cars that were coming out. Unfortunately, my dad, who knew nothing about cars, didn't want my advice. More than once a new car just showed up in the driveway, and I didn't even know they were in the market for one......Finally got to help them purchase their last car, a '90 T-Bird, which mom still owns.

That '66 in the pic is sweeeeett!
My dad was always into cars. We'd have fun on trips trying to ID cars on the highway (make, model, year). It was a challenge at night when all you could see were headlights and taillights, but it was fun. My dad and I still go to car shows and stuff together sometimes. Hope to get my daughter interested in cars soon.
I grew up in the late 60's and into the 70's, so lots of them musclecars on the road, very few imports. Dad always had friends bringing cars for him to work on, like GTO's, Nova's, Mopars, Mustangs, vans, ect. I was the little guy running back and forth from the toolbox for him.

Hey, 1963, if you get that '66, maybe you'll need to thin the herd a little. I'd take that '63 from ya!
