    Update

I finally got around to replacing the "plastic" chrome on the back bumper. Easy as pie and only cost $17.50. The weather finally warmed up so the 3M tape worked great. I also have about 2/3rds of the rear window tint removed. What a bugger.

I polished the whole car this last weekend after installing 220' of fencing in my sons back yard. Needless to say last week off from work was work.

The polishing only highlighted the dents and scratches more.:banghead3: But the car sure runs good. New tires are needed soon. I think I have a square one on the back. The car is a bit bouncy back there below 30 mph. Smooths out at speed. Wierd. I think I need to get less lazy and take some pictures.

You know that square tire I mentioned? It was. Now it's round after the tread came off.:taz:

While I'm waiting for my new Kelly Charger GTs I painted the wheels. Original silver. I was actually shocked that one single can painted all four inside and out two coats. As a cheap guy who makes pennies scream for help I'm totally satisfied with the paint. Rustoleum.

See post #69 for the wheels style.

I did that back in the 70's on our two '74 Mazda RX-4's - my yellow wagon and my wife's blue sedan. They had steel 'rallye look' wheels, and I couldn't afford mags. Original wheel color was gunmetal, Bought a couple of cans of silver spray paint, cleaned the wheels real good, made up a 'mask' from some cardboard (along with some duct tape around the edges (tires still mounted). Did 2 at a time. Came out looking pretty good. The wheels also had chrome trim rings from the factory, so that helped.

I picked up the tires/wheels about an hour ago. I might even take pictures and post them next week.

Tomorrow is an off day. We work every other Friday. March is a real bad month. Even with two Fridays off we get stuck working 21 days this month. Most months it's 18 and two 15 day months. Not that I'm bragging or anything.....

Tacky? Perhaps she'd rather pay a mechanic an hour to do the job?
If anything, my neighbours are jealous they can't work on their own vehicles.

    Gas mileage

Woohoo. I took up driving like a grandpa and got over 22 mpg on the last tank. The previous two tanks were 20 mpg.:thumbs2:

Not bad for a 3,600 lb car with a fat guy driving...
